D\u2019un enseignement, o\u00f9 les avis de tous auraient une m\u00eame valeur, au politique, o\u00f9 la navigation aux sondages l\u2019emporterait sur les exigences des probl\u00e8mes \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre, en passant par les medias, o\u00f9 le t\u00e9moignage partial occulterait l\u2019objectivit\u00e9 des faits, on sent intuitivement l\u2019essor de cette tendance : les personnes n\u2019acceptent plus ce qu\u2019elles estiment comme venant \u00ab d\u2019en haut \u00bb (ou parfois m\u00eame \u00ab d\u2019ailleurs \u00bb) et qui incarnerait \u00e0 leurs yeux une sorte d\u2019autorit\u00e9 qui s\u2019opposerait \u00e0 leurs choix individuels et nierait leur avis personnel. Une opinion individuelle dont elles estiment par ailleurs qu\u2019elle est d&rsquo;une telle valeur (ce qui est vrai en tant que tel) qu\u2019elles la placent au-dessus de la v\u00e9rit\u00e9, des faits, de la logique voire m\u00eame de ce qui est l\u00e9gitimement acceptable collectivement. Comme si le droit d\u2019expression, au demeurant essentiel, surpassait toutes les lois, y compris rationnelles ou naturelles. \u00ab Parce que je le vaux bien \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cette \u00e9volution a de multiples et complexes causes qu\u2019il n\u2019est pas ici question de pr\u00e9tendre analyser en d\u00e9tail. Des \u00e9lites en perte de vitesse arc-bout\u00e9es sur leurs conformismes, le spectacle abusif des d\u00e9rives de minorit\u00e9s privil\u00e9gi\u00e9es, l\u2019impression de d\u00e9cisions arbitraires dont le sens de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral est absent, autant de facteurs qui y contribuent vraisemblablement. Le manque de rep\u00e8res d\u2019appartenance collective et le poids affaibli des communaut\u00e9s qui offraient auparavant sens et perspective \u00e9galement. Peut-\u00eatre aussi la d\u00e9mocratisation, \u00e9videmment souhaitable, de r\u00e9els moyens d\u2019expression individuelle, mais qui bercent implicitement dans l\u2019illusion que ce \u00ab possible \u00bb apporterait brutalement une plus grande lucidit\u00e9, pertinence et maturit\u00e9 des acteurs\u2026 Ou quand \u00ab l\u2019Avoir \u00bb donne l\u2019illusion de \u00ab l\u2019Etre \u00bb. Peut-\u00eatre aussi une forme d\u2019appauvrissement de l\u2019argumentation et du langage, d\u00e9sormais ponctu\u00e9s d\u2019incessants \u00ab voil\u00e0, quoi \u00bb qui ass\u00e8nent leur v\u00e9rit\u00e9, faute d\u2019arguments.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>Cette \u00ab <em>confusion des mots finit toujours par entra\u00eener celle des choses<\/em> \u00bb Michel Maffesoli <sup>1<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concr\u00e8tement, pour l\u2019univers qui nous int\u00e9resse, \u00e0 savoir l\u2019entreprise, deux remarques nous semblent devoir \u00eatre formul\u00e9es dans cette perspective. D\u2019une part, l\u2019entreprise n\u2019est pas \u00e9tanche \u00e0 ce rejet grandissant de la \u00ab verticalit\u00e9 \u00bb. D\u2019autre part, l\u2019usage g\u00e9n\u00e9ralis\u00e9 des medias sociaux y est in\u00e9luctablement impliqu\u00e9, tant ils sont \u00e0 la fois porteurs de promesses r\u00e9elles que d\u2019illusions h\u00e2tives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sur ce terreau soci\u00e9tal de rejet de la verticalit\u00e9, se d\u00e9veloppe en effet une sorte d\u2019illusion nourrie de la \u00ab culture 2.0 \u00bb, dont la confrontation \u00e0 la brutalit\u00e9 de la r\u00e9alit\u00e9 pourrait malheureusement r\u00e9duire les effets pourtant bien r\u00e9els.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nos repr\u00e9sentations en mati\u00e8re d\u2019organisation, de management et d\u2019instrumentation RH s\u2019articulent autour de deux grands mod\u00e8les que l\u2019on a tendance \u00e0 opposer. D\u2019un c\u00f4t\u00e9 un mod\u00e8le dit \u00ab industriel \u00bb ou \u00ab bureaucrate \u00bb, fils spirituel du Taylorisme et de l\u2019organisation scientifique du travail, tourn\u00e9 vers l\u2019optimisation des ressources. De l\u2019autre, un mod\u00e8le inspir\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00e9conomie du savoir, tourn\u00e9 vers l\u2019innovation, l\u2019exploration de ressources nouvelles. Une opposition classique entre deux mondes. Le premier est un monde qui est l\u00e9gitimement pyramidal et organis\u00e9, dans lequel la subordination mat\u00e9rialise la verticalit\u00e9 et la convergence qu\u2019exige la recherche de productivit\u00e9. Le second est un univers o\u00f9 r\u00e8gnent coop\u00e9ration, transversalit\u00e9 et intelligence collective, sans lesquelles aucune innovation n\u2019est possible. Une opposition inconsciente entre verticalit\u00e9 et transversalit\u00e9, entre fermeture et ouverture, entre efficacit\u00e9 et adaptation, entre convergence et divergence.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Or, les medias sociaux, et la \u00ab culture 2.0 \u00bb qu\u2019ils sont cens\u00e9s incarner, constituent de v\u00e9ritables symboles de cette repr\u00e9sentation d\u2019un univers innovant o\u00f9 la richesse de l\u2019intelligence collective est le moteur de d\u00e9veloppement. Cette repr\u00e9sentation sied par ailleurs si bien \u00e0 l\u2019image que l\u2019on peut se faire de l\u2019\u00e9conomie du savoir. Un r\u00eave d\u2019entreprise o\u00f9 la coop\u00e9ration est naturelle, l\u2019imagination au pouvoir, et le sens collectif inh\u00e9rent au r\u00e9seau lui-m\u00eame. Cette repr\u00e9sentation fait \u00e9cho par ailleurs \u00e0 un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne r\u00e9el de d\u00e9sindustrialisation de l\u2019\u00e9conomie fran\u00e7aise au profit d\u2019activit\u00e9s de services dans lesquelles savoir et innovation sont d\u00e9terminants. Une \u00e9volution qui pousse d\u2019ailleurs certains prospectivistes \u00e0 annoncer un in\u00e9vitable changement de paradigme, sous la forme d\u2019une mutation d\u2019une vieille soci\u00e9t\u00e9 industrielle du XIX<sup>\u00e8me<\/sup> si\u00e8cle vers un monde nouveau et d\u00e9mat\u00e9rialis\u00e9, dans lequel informations et connaissances forgent la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il ne s\u2019agit pourtant que de mod\u00e8les de repr\u00e9sentation. Mais ils sont si profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9s et si forts dans l\u2019imaginaire des observateurs de la vie d\u2019entreprise, qu\u2019ils en font oublier une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 prosa\u00efque, sensiblement diff\u00e9rente.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans les faits, les entreprises font face \u00e0 la n\u00e9cessit\u00e9 de devoir combiner simultan\u00e9ment recherche de productivit\u00e9 et besoin d\u2019innovation. Il ne s\u2019agit pas d\u2019une exigence in\u00e9dite. La difficult\u00e9 provient en r\u00e9alit\u00e9 du fait qu\u2019il est d\u00e9sormais de plus en plus difficile de mettre ces exigences en s\u00e9rie sur des p\u00e9riodes longues (on innove d\u2019abord puis on rentabilise apr\u00e8s). Il devient n\u00e9cessaire d\u2019adopter un \u00ab<i>Business Model<\/i>\u00bb capable de poursuivre conjointement ces deux n\u00e9cessit\u00e9s, alors que l\u2019on conna\u00eet et ma\u00eetrise bien des mod\u00e8les d\u2019organisation et de management adapt\u00e9s \u00e0 l\u2019un ou \u00e0 l\u2019autre mais pas aux deux.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ce qu\u2019il va donc falloir apprendre au plus intime de l\u2019organisation des entreprises, c\u2019est qu\u2019il y a des rythmes et des temps diff\u00e9rents avec lesquels il faut d\u00e9sormais savoir jongler pour les combiner efficacement. En d\u2019autres termes, lorsqu\u2019il faut ouvrir &#8211; la divergence &#8211; il faut ouvrir large. Mais lorsqu\u2019il faut \u00eatre efficace, la convergence, avec son corolaire si d\u00e9plaisant de verticalit\u00e9, est alors vitale. Le discernement du management de proximit\u00e9, peut-\u00eatre dans l\u2019esprit des \u00e9quipes autonomes des ann\u00e9es 70, sera alors en premi\u00e8re ligne. En d\u2019autres termes, apprendre \u00e0 combiner intelligemment verticalit\u00e9 et transversalit\u00e9 au gr\u00e9 des exigences de l\u2019activit\u00e9, et non c\u00e9der aveugl\u00e9ment aux sir\u00e8nes d\u2019une pyramide invers\u00e9e par aveugl\u00e9ment pour la modernit\u00e9 et rejet des symboles d\u2019un ordre ancien.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dans cette optique, les medias sociaux et la culture qu\u2019ils portent sont importants. Ils ouvrent indubitablement un potentiel formidable \u00e0 la fois par la d\u00e9mocratisation factuelle des moyens d\u2019expression qu\u2019ils apportent (et ses effets b\u00e9n\u00e9fiques) mais aussi par la r\u00e9ticularit\u00e9 qu\u2019ils concr\u00e9tisent dans les faits. La \u00ab culture 2.0 \u00bb constitue une r\u00e9alit\u00e9 tr\u00e8s prometteuse, notamment sur le plan des enseignements qu\u2019elle nous livre sur les facteurs contribuant \u00e0 une am\u00e9lioration sensible de la capacit\u00e9 de coop\u00e9ration des personnes. Mais, il convient toutefois d\u2019\u00eatre vigilant et de ne pas c\u00e9der \u00e0 un engouement trop h\u00e2tif pour tout ce qu\u2019elle incarne, ni de croire na\u00efvement \u00e0 l\u2019av\u00e8nement in\u00e9luctable d\u2019un ordre nouveau.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A l\u2019image du vivant qui doit en permanence faire preuve d\u2019efficacit\u00e9 pour survivre \u00e0 court terme et d\u2019adaptation pour survivre \u00e0 long terme, la comp\u00e9titivit\u00e9 de l\u2019entreprise passe par la red\u00e9couverte qu\u2019il n\u2019y a plus de mod\u00e8les de management uniques mais des capacit\u00e9s parfois antagonistes \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper dans des situations variables.
